Dr. Joel Reich is a health tech advisor and consultant who teaches graduate level Population Health, Healthcare Economics and Health Care Leadership at Jefferson College of Population Health, University of New Haven, and Frank H. Netter School of Medicine. Previously, he was Chair of Emergency Medicine, Medical Director of EMS, and Chief Medical Officer of the Eastern Connecticut Health Network, a community health care system, and interim Chief Medical Officer of Commonwealth Care Alliance, a unique, "Social ACO" non-profit for a complex, dual eligible Medicare-Medicaid population. He has served on for-profit, non-profit and government boards including a medical group practice foundation, an ambulance company, a state hospital association, state, regional and local EMS advisory boards and a Physician-Hospital Organization/Clinically Integrated Network.
Dr. Reich has master’s degrees in Medical Management, Health & Medical Informatics, and Technology & Human Affairs. His special interests include population health, innovative care and payment models, healthcare system transformation, care management and health technology applications. He has presented at national seminars on topics including Health IT/telehealth, quality improvement and accountable care and has been active in the Accountable Care Learning Collaborative (ACLC) and the national HIMSS Physician Committee, Innovation Committee and TIGER taskforce.
